Busy Philipps just won a Critics Choice TV Awards and her speech was “You know I’m not even getting nominated for an Emmy, right?” and I’m afraid she’s right. Too bad.

The Department of Fish and Wildlife says the bear was so friendly to humans that there was no other choice than to euthanize him. They had made an attempt previously to relocate the little bear but he came back. He liked people but more importantly, liked the food they gave him. The killing of this beloved little bear cub brings up the whole debate of over “wildlife management.” Humans move into animal territory and complain about being surrounded by animals. We take away the land animals depend on for survival and we get mad that they are attracted to our food and our garbage. To me, the death of this little bear is a sad reminder of how screwed up our relationship with animals really is.

I just saw some girl being all extreme about rape on here, so I just figured I’d put in my two cents.

So I’m pretty sure if people were actually educated about it and took the means to protect themselves, it wouldn’t be such…

I don’t answer often to these kinds of posts because English is not my first language and I can’t be very articulate but this time I must reply.

I can’t believe you are serious. This is so stupid it’s unbelievable. Why would people need to be educated about how to avoid rape!?! It’s just insane. What are men!?! Are they beasts who can’t control themselves? And so the best you can do is live with it and educate your children to avoid being raped?!? Is this what you’re saying?

The problem, but clearly you don’t get it, is “why shouldn’t I be allowed to walk alone at night or go to a party and get wasted without someone trying to assault me?” I should be free to do whatever I want, I should be free to walk in dark alleys late at night naked if I want to without risking to be sexually assaulted. People need to be educated, yes, but not about how to avoid being raped, they need to be educated about what sex and respect are. You can’t fight sexual assaults finding a way to live with it, you fight it resolving the problem at the source, like educating guys that rape is very wrong, or solving the issues that trigger certain sick behaviors, or stopping with this ridiculous rape apology.
